    This text was written to provide students and teacher candidates with an introductory understanding of the skills associated with teaching apparel production. The book is broken into units and chapters that focus on essential skills for constructing garments and, more specifically, teaching others how to construct apparel and apparel-related products.

    About the Contributors

    Author

    Dr. Sheri Deaton is a Career and Technical Education instructor in the College of Education and Health professions at the University of Arkansas. She achieved National Board Certification in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience including teaching middle school, high school, and collegiate-level courses.

    Deaton instructs, mentors, and supervises Career and Technical Education teacher candidates while providing content courses for Family and Consumer Science Education students. Deaton enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, exercising, sewing, and cooking in her free time.
